We recently introduced medicine cabinets as an in-stock Signature KirkBath option. To celebrate, we’re pleased to offer one free Signature medicine cabinet with every KirkBath contract of at least $12,000 signed on or before April 1, 2016. These medicine cabinets match our vanity cabinets, include three adjustable glass shelves, ply-core box (no particle board!), soft-close hinges, and waterproof interior veneer, and are made in the NW by DeWils Custom Cabinets. In many bathrooms, placement over the toilet, or on a side-wall next to the vanity works well.
Offer includes one Signature style cabinet, knob and installation.
We’ve been busy adding new finishes and fixtures to the KirkBath collections, some of which are shown at right. We tested many tubs before finally settling on the tub shown to add to our line up. This tub is very sturdy, with an easy-clean high-gloss coating over fiberglass-reinforced acrylic. It offers a more-traditional aesthetic, and a medium-height apron for a balance between easy step-in and bathing submersion.
Our new 24×12 large-format tile works on shower walls or the floor. It’s a dense, tough through-body porcelain. I love its limestone look and texture, evoking an old French farmhouse.
One of our new sconce lights features a uniquely beautiful finish called “Winter Gold”. It looks like a patina-ed nickle with softly gold undertones. It works well paired with nickle finishes on the other fixtures in the room, but provides an interesting warm note in the focal area of the vanity sconce.

Introducing Buttermilk: our newest KirkBath Signature Caesarstone Countertop Color Option! Our Signature Collection represents our best value options. These options have short lead times and are designed to coordinate well with one another. They’ll help you create a beautiful, durable bathroom, maximize your return on investment, and allow us to complete the job as soon as possible. Our goal for the Signature Collection is making the selection process quick and easy.
We also recently received samples of the latest Caeserstone quartz counter colors! They include many options with marbling, as well as a new “Concrete” collection that features a softly honed finish, rather than polished. This matte finish would look great in a kitchen where a casual, early feel is desired. If you’d like to check them out, please stop by our showroom Th-Fri 11-6 (or other times by appointment).
From Joni DeRaeve (Click here to see the review on Google+)
“I recently had my downstairs bathroom remodeled by Kirk Design and Construction. The KirkBath concept made the whole project very easy as I got to “pick and choose” from the four scenarios Emma has carefully curated. In this world of millions of choices, it is sometimes overwhelming to have to research each item. Emma found great, high quality choices, and that combined with their amazing construction practices makes for a beautiful, solid new bathroom. It’s always fun to bounce ideas off Joel for personalizing the design. This was my second project with them and as before, it was fun, painless and the results were gorgeous! Russell, their carpenter on the project was also great to work with–very careful and considerate and lives up to their high standards!”

Layout. This is a biggie. A good design will take different forms depending on your needs and the constraints of the existing home. You’ll want to address traffic flow through the kitchen, the level of open-ness to adjacent spaces, and the placement of the high-touch areas of sink, range, and fridge. The end result should be that the typical number of cooks in your house have room to work comfortably.
Lighting. Good lighting will make your kitchen so much more pleasant to use. Natural light is always lovely. If there is a window above your counter, we often will lower the sill height to be in-plane with the counter to bring in more light and create a wider counter. Sun tunnels are a relatively affordable way to bring in natural light. Lights placed under the wall cabinets will put light right where you need it, not shining in your eyes or casting a shadow on your cutting board.
Useful Storage. Your kitchen storage capability should match your needs. If you have lots of large platters or baking sheets, we often install a deep cabinet over the fridge with vertical dividers for easy accessibility. For base cabinets, drawers make it much easier to access contents than digging to the back of a deep shelf for that grater. For blind corner cabinets, a pull-out half-susan (see picture at left) is a very effective way to make use of otherwise hard-to-access space.
I hope that gives you some good ideas for your own kitchen!
We just added an American Standard Americast tub as a Signature option for KirkBath. Americast is a newer alternative to cast iron that is much lighter (less labor to install), but retains heat, absorbs sound, and resists chips/crazing. The apron front is 14″ tall, allowing for easy step-in. This tub features a sleek front and lifetime warranty with in-home service. Best of all, this tub is a good value, coming in at a mid-price level between the other tubs we offer.
